How we handle your information

Information you provide

We collect information you choose to share through the forms on this site: joining the waitlist, submitting a café partnership inquiry, or completing either of our surveys. Depending on which form you use, this can include your name, email address, general city or neighborhood, café details, and your survey answers. We only collect what each form actually asks for.

Analytics

In production, we use PostHog for basic site analytics, configured to run anonymously: no cookies, no local storage, and no persistent identity from one visit to the next. An anonymous analytics event may include the page you viewed, approved campaign attribution parameters if present in the URL (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content— every other URL query parameter is stripped before it's sent), general browser and device information automatically associated with analytics events, and approximate geographic information when provided by the analytics service.

PostHog does not receive your name, email address, form-field values, survey answers, or café application contents. We never link analytics events to a personal identity, session recording is turned off, and automatic click/form-field capture is turned off. Analytics only runs on our production site — never during local development or preview builds.

UTM and referral information

If you arrive through a tracked link, we may store campaign or referral information (source, medium, campaign, content) together with a waitlist signup or café inquiry you submit, so we can understand which outreach and marketing channels are working. Because this is stored alongside the name, email, and other details you submit through a form, it can be associated with that submission. This is separate from the anonymous site analytics described above, which never receives your name, email, or any other form-field values.

Why we collect this

We use this information to build our early-access waitlist, follow up with interested cafés about partnership, understand demand for Caught Sipping before launch, and improve the product based on survey feedback.

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information. We don't share it with third parties beyond the service providers necessary to operate this site — currently Supabase for data storage and PostHog for anonymous analytics.
